Description

The fifth ITRF/LhARA collaboration meeting and the ITRF PA1 24 month design review will take place on the 2nd and 3rd September 2024.

The meeting will be held in the Main Physics Building (Bell lecture theatre) at Queen's University Belfast which is on the main campus.  On this campus map, it is marked with the 12: https://www.qub.ac.uk/schools/queens-business-school/file-store/Campus%20Map%20-%20with%20Riddel%20Hall.pdf 

The meeting will start on Monday at 10:30 with a welcome, with working group reviews starting from 11:00.  The meeting will end on Tuesday at 16:00.  Monday's programme will feature working group summaries and an afternoon focused on radiobiology.  Tuesday's programme will contain the 26 month ITRF review and Bridging fund discussions.  

Note that hybrid participation will be available with zoom/Teams meeting details posted on the indico closer to the meeting start date. 

Travel:

Note that there are two airports near Belfast.  Belfast international (BFS), which is approximately a 30 min taxis journey, and Belfast City (BHD), which is just over 10 mins.  More details on getting to QUB from outside NI are provided here: https://www.qub.ac.uk/sites/my-queens/welcome-orientation/travel

Accommodation: 

 The city is very compact and walking from the city hall to the campus takes just over 20 mins. The university sits at the junction of University road, Malone road and Stranmillis, in close proximity to vibrant cafe life in stranmillis, lisburn road, botanic avenue and over the river in ormeau road. There are lots of options for accommodation within walking distance of the main physics building.  For public transport, it's possible to buy tickets in the app mlink translink or to tap directly with a bank card.

Note that the Holyland region (to the east of Botanic avenue) contains a lot of student housing and can occasionally be a bit loud.
