Description

The Advanced Graduate Lectures on practical Tools, Applications and Techniques in HEP will be held at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory from 3rd June to 7th June.

Invited theorists and experimentalists will explain the hands-on reality of designing and running detectors and accelerators, computing, machine learning, Monte-Carlo and simulation, trigger and data acquisition, and practical statistics. Several of these topics are complemented by tutorials. This course was constructed with 1st year HEP PhD students in mind, but all students and postdocs from any scientific background who find this lecture series useful are welcome.

The timetable for the lecture series is preliminary and likely to change!

For transport to Harwell Campus, please use this link. If you come by bus, use the Diamond bus stop. You will clearly see the round silver Diamond Light Source building when you arrive at the stop. There is a regular service from Didcot Parkway to RAL though less frequent on Sundays.

For people wanting accommodation during the lecture series, we have reserved rooms at Ridgeway House. Information about Ridgeway House can be found here https://www.ridgewayhousehotel.com/
