Description

The Advanced Graduate Lectures on practical Tools, Applications and Techniques in HEP will be held at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory from 16th June to 20th June.

Invited theorists and experimentalists will explain the hands-on reality of designing and running detectors and accelerators, computing, machine learning, Monte-Carlo  simulation, trigger, data acquisition and practical statistics. Several of these topics are complemented by tutorials. This course was constructed with 1st year HEP PhD students in mind, but all students and postdocs from any scientific background who find this lecture series useful are welcome.

For those that require it, accommodation this year will be at the Cosener's House. Transport will be provided in the mornings from Cosener's House to RAL and then back again in the evening.

For those arriving at night and staying at the Cosener's House, you can check in at any time. Just provide your name at reception (please have ID with you) and a room will be provided for you. The location of the Cosener's is shown on a map here:

For those not requiring accommodation and making their own way, RAL is at the Harwell Campus. For transport to Harwell Campus, please use this link. If you come by bus, use the Diamond bus stop.
