The venue for the workshop is the Cosener's House, in Abingdon-on-Thames, near Oxford. Abingdon is an historic market town, said by some to have a strong claim to be the oldest town in England. The Cosener's House stands among the ruins of the late 7th century Benedictine monastery Abingdon Abbey beside the River Thames. It is 8 miles south of Oxford and a similar distance north of the Harwell Campus, home to both the ISIS neutron and muon source and the Diamond light source.
The workshop will be held in the Cosener's Garden Room. Lunch will be provided on all four days of the workshop, Tuesday to Friday, and there will be a tour of some of the facilities at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory followed by a special Workshop Dinner on the Thursday (included in the registration fee). On other days, evening meals can be booked at the Cosener's House at delegates' expense or meals can be taken at restaurants in town.
