Study of the doubly charming particles at LHCb

Description

After a brief introduction to the LHCb experiment and its upgrade, I will focus on systematic studies of the doubly charmed baryons, including the observation of the Xicc+ baryon in 2026, which is the first new particle observed with the upgraded LHCb detector.

 

Biography of the speaker

Jibo HE is a tenured professor at University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS). He obtained his PhD degree from Tsinghua University (Beijing), before moving to LAL (Orsay) as a post-doc from 2008 to 2012. Then he moved to CERN as an applied Fellow working on the upgrade of the LHCb Cherenkov detector from 2013 to 2015. After that he became a professor of physics at UCAS. He has held various roles within the LHCb collaboration, including the LHCb Stripping (central pre-selection) coordinator, a convener of the b-hadrons and Quarkonia Working Group, and a member of the LHCb Editorial Board.
