DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Aodhan McIlvenny (Lawrence Berkeley National Lab)\,
Nicholas Dover (Imperial College London)\, Charlotte Palmer (Queen's Unive
rsity Belfast)\n\nWhile multi-Hz laser facilities are becoming more widely
available\, laser-driven ion acceleration experiments typically do not op
erate at the Hz level.  Operation at these repetition rates not only repr
esents a key step towards exploitation of laser-driven sources for applica
tion but also provides large data-set to support fundamental understanding
. \nThis mini-workshop aims to support discussion of the technical challe
nges associated with high-repetition rate experiments including targetry\,
diagnostics\, debris and automated control. The output of the discussion
will inform development of the new short-focal length experimental area (E
A2) at the Central Laser Facility's Extreme Photonics Application Centre (
EPAC). \nDuring the workshop\, researchers from a range of international
facilities will share updates on their current efforts to address these te
chnical challenges and guided discussion will aim to identify avenues for
collaborative development.  The results of the discussions will be shared
with the community via a white paper.\n \n\nhttps://indico.stfc.ac.uk/ev
