 y the visible universe is made of matter\, when we expect matter to have b
 een produced in equal amounts with antimatter before annihilating\, is one
  of the biggest unsolved mysteries in physics. Generating a matter-antimat
 ter asymmetry requires CP violation\, yet the CP violation in the standard
  model falls short of explaining the matter surplus by around ten orders o
 f magnitude.\nAn exciting possibility is that CP violation occurs in the H
 iggs sector\, which can generate a matter excess during the electroweak ph
 ase transition. The most promising avenue to test this is by studying Higg
 s boson decays into tau leptons\, as spin correlations between the taus ar
 e sensitive to the CP nature of the Higgs. I will present the latest measu
 rement of this process using the CMS experiment at the LHC. I will also di
 scuss prospects for enhancing these measurements going forward\, exploitin
 g the much larger datasets that will be recorded at the High-Luminosity LH
 C.\n \n******************************\nSpeaker's biography:\nDr Daniel Wi
 nterbottom is a researcher at Imperial College London and a member of the 
 CMS Collaboration since 2016. His research spans Higgs boson precision mea
 surements\, searches for new particles\, and the reconstruction and identi
 fication of tau leptons. He completed his PhD at Imperial College London i
 n 2019 and has remained there as a postdoctoral researcher since.\nWithin 
 CMS\, he convened the Higgs to ditau analysis group from 2019 to 2021\, an
 d the Tau Physics Object Group from 2022 to 2024\, where he oversaw the de
 ployment of tau reconstruction algorithms and calibrations for the LHC's R
 un-3 data-taking. He previously convened the LHC Higgs NMSSM working group
  and currently convenes the LHC Higgs CPV working group. His current resea
 rch focuses on CP measurements in the ditau final state\, aiming to unders
 tand the origin of the observed matter-antimatter asymmetry of the univers
