DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Jiannis Pachos (University of Leeds)\n\nAbstract: Th
e chiral spin-chain model provides a surprising new framework for studying
quantum geometry\, quantum chaos\, and information processing. In this ta
lk\, I will discuss the key properties of the chiral spin-chain model and
demonstrate its role in connecting condensed matter physics with emergent
black hole phenomena. By replicating spacetime geometry\, including Hawkin
g radiation\, and exhibiting optimal scrambling\, a hallmark of quantum bl
ack holes\, the model offers a robust platform for addressing fundamental
questions in quantum gravity. As an application\, we implement the Hayden-
Preskill protocol\, which uses Hawking radiation and optimal scrambling to
transfer quantum information encoded inside the black hole by Alice to Bo
 b\, who remains outside.\n\nhttps://indico.stfc.ac.uk/event/1894/
