This is the third of a series of four, AI themed, talks aimed at researchers who are interested in learning more about AI and its applications. The talks are offered both online and in person.
This talk introduces the concept of surrogate models and demonstrates, through real-life examples, their use in accelerating simulations and helping to solve complex problems. The talk will begin with an overview, followed by a deep dive into case studies in vehicle routing optimisation, fluid simulation, power network simulation, plasma simulation, and fusion engineering experiments.
Materials, including video recordings, will be made available after the event via the Hartree Centre Training Portal
