Description

Quantum computing is poised to be the most promising technology of the 21st century, with the potential to accelerate scientific breakthroughs and address pressing global issues. I will present research focused on applying quantum computing to challenging problems in particle physics (including simulating parton showers and track reconstruction) and on leveraging its capabilities to accelerate the discovery of physics beyond the Standard Model.

Biography:

Dr Sarah Malik is a Senior Research Fellow at UCL and co-director of UCL’s Quantum Computing and Quantum Communications Centre for Doctoral Training. Her research explores the interface between quantum computing and particle physics, aiming to leverage quantum techniques to accelerate the discovery of physics beyond the Standard Model.
