The Cockcroft Institute will be celebrating its 20th birthday on the 20th September 2024 at Daresbury Laboratory. Approximately 20 years ago accelerator science was re-established in universities in the UK this initiative led to the creation of the Cockcroft Institute. The institute has become an internationally leading research institute, contributed to important international projects, trained over 300 PhD students and made important contributions to applications of accelerators. 
 

The afternoon has three sessions 

A talk celebrating the scientific career of Mike Poole (former ASTeC director), session on first 20 years of the Cockcroft, session on the next 20 years of research at the Cockcroft.

We would be delighted for people in the physics community to register and attend.
