Description

The joint production of three vector bosons in pp collisions is a rare process in the Standard Model. Studies of triboson production can test the non-Abelian gauge structure of the theory and any deviations from the prediction would provide hints of new physics at higher energy scales. After successfully establishing triboaon processes with two photons in the final state in LHC Run-1, the Run-2 data has been used to focus on the rarer production of three massive gauge bosons.

A search for this process is performed using 80/fb of data recorded at a cms energy of 13 TeV with the ATLAS detector, exploiting final states with 2-4 leptons and various jet multiplicities. Evidence for the joint production of three massive vector bosons has been observed.
